What do do if you are worried about DVT
At The Whiteley Clinic we have many years of experience of dealing with DVT and also all of the other associated conditions.
We have set up a specialist diagnostic Duplex Ultrasound service and also a DVT Screening service to see who is at risk of developing a DVT.
Many of our patients have been investigated elsewhere and have been worried by the results - particularly if they have only had a blood test or a very brief Duplex Ultrasound scan that did not cover the whole of the leg.
We are very happy to give advice by e-mail - we cannot give advice by telephone as our lines are often jammed with callers and our specialists are usually involved with patients in the clinics. Therefore e-mail queries can be answered by our specialists between treatments, and so are easier for us to get you a specialist opinion.
Although we can sometimes give a full answer to a query, very often we need to see you and perform our own scan which is very detailed and thorough.
If you think this is what you would need, it is probably best to book straight in for a consultation with one of our specialists who can then determine whether you need to go forward for a specialist venous Duplex Ultrasound scan.
These can usually be performed on the same day, especially if you let us know of your concerns at the time of booking.
Don't worry - Act!!
One of the worst things that can happen to a person is to be left in a state of anxiety and worry.
If you are worried about your legs or the legs of someone close to you - please do either e-mail us or book an appointment to see us.
We will be able to either set your mind at rest - or get you on to the right treatment programme as soon as possible.
We can also provide screening to check your risk of developing a DVT and can get you measured for properly fitting graduated pressure stockings to reduce your risks even further.
